I looked up "awesome" in Spanish, and there seems to be a lot of answers for this one. The most literal translation would be "asombroso" (awe inspiring), but it's not used a lot.
One of the most popular ways of saying "awesome" in Latin America is "chevere". ¡qué chévere!’ = that's awesome. In Mexican, it's "a toda madre". ¡Está a toda madre, wey! = That’s pretty awesome, dude!
