With all the heat waves we've been having this summer, the thought of Sam in the snow is very appealing. So, I made this edit from ep 1.13, but then I ended up writing a drabble for it. I also did a recording... I hope it turned out ok!

Winter 2006

Winter turns the world gray with a hint of blue, as white flakes dot the air. The snow rides on a northern breeze, eager to find its way towards Sam.

Winter remembers this boy. He played as other children played, but he wasn't one of them. Now, Sam stands on the edge of things, snow urging him forward. Secrets pull at the corner of his coat, cold whispers of things to come.

Winter weaves a heavy mantle on the future boy king, made of threads that Sam can’t see. The weight of it saddens Sam’s heart, makes him ache in places he didn’t know could hurt.

Winter watches as Sam puts a photo in his memory box. “Winter 2006” is written below, ink fading as the years pass. Darkness stains the edges, but nothing breaks Sam's pure heart.

Winter stops crying for Sam. There are better uses for tears, better sorrows to weep for in the night. Dark dreams fade as the ending comes into sight. Dean’s hand fits Sam’s perfectly in a heaven that’s all theirs.

Lovely! Both the image and the words. And I was able to listen to the recording, too, which is very cool!

Stay cool :))

Aww, so nice to hear your voice. You sound great. Perhaps you should look into doing audio book recordings. ;)
